Ancient powers, knight themes and dinosaur Zords define Power Rangers: Dino Fury, which likewise spans two seasons by the US/EU count (28 & 29). Here these elements are far more tightly interwoven than in many previous seasons.

The Zords once again lean more heavily on classic combination mechanics, yet thanks to a kind of "building-block" connection system they offer considerably more flexibility. Unlike the immediately preceding seasons, the focus is less on pure play systems and more on firmly defined Megazord formations that can be expanded or altered by Ryusouls.

In the toyline, however, a certain fragmentation shows up once again. The Raptor Set contains only the Shadow Ryusoul. The Shine Ryusoul, which is needed for certain combination forms — for instance to form the Shine head — isn't included in the set and has to be bought through a separate set. For complete combinations that means: collect first, then combine 😉
